At the monthly chapter dinner meeting on November 17th, Darden Langston cooked up some fabulous pork loin, while Claudia Powell, chapter Food chair, prepared delicious roasted potatoes and green beans, with homemade apple crisp and pumpkin desserts. 32 chapter Ikes were served, with Kathy and Bob Marchant, and David and Jennifer Wood as usual providing much needed assistance with the kitchen prep, serving, and cleanup afterwards. Jennifer also helped chapter Ikes Trish Ferguson and Ray Powell with collecting money at the front table desk.
Our speaker for the evening was chapter Ike and IWLA National director Jim Trommatter who, as you can see from the photos below, gave quite an animated presentation on the history of the IWLA, with highlights of the 100 year centennial (1922-2022) celebration planned for the upcoming IWLA National Convention. He summarized our chapter’s accomplishments and recurring activities from previous years.
Chapter president Chris Ferguson thanked Jim for his presentation and stated that he hoped to resume most of those recurring chapter activities next year including a hopeful pancake supper fundraiser perhaps in the February or March timeframe, and possibly another in November. Chris pointed out that this meeting was the last chapter dinner meeting of the year.
