Prior to our member’s dinner meeting on March 15th, an Adopt-A-Road cleanup along Kings Fork Road was accomplished. Danny Stephenson stepped up to act as coordinator of the event in the absence of a current Adopt-A-Road coordinator. Read more
Our chapter’s youth program Teddy Bear Hunt will be held April 15th, 2017. This is a great event to show our support for introducing youth to the outdoors. This is also an opportunity to bring your children or grandchildren out to the park for a fun filled day.
April 1st, 2017 from 9:00am until 1:00pm is the date and time for the upcoming river cleanup project. Although some members have signed up to lend a hand, we still could use a few more. The Great Dismal Swamp Wildlife Refuge is currently constructing a boardwalk path in the refuge. The current project is approximately 75% complete and the refuge is attempting to complete the project by the end of this winter. Volunteers are needed to complete the project.
