Each year, our chapter awards education scholarships to students who’ve been accepted into or who are currently attending an accredited college, university, or technical school, and who are pursuing an appropriate course of study related to conservation and the environment. The annual amount of funding for this scholarship depends on our members’ efforts in selling raffle tickets. We are bound by our member’s pledge to help preserve the Earth’s water, woodlands, wildlife, and open spaces, and also its natural heritage. Towards this pledge, we support the education and training of the next generation that will follow us.
Members, please help our chapter by picking up at least one pack of 10 tickets at the member’s picnic on Saturday May 19th, or at the June, July, or August chapter dinner meetings. To help you sell tickets, a printable flyer is available for download below under the Attachments section.
Cost of each ticket will be a $5.00 donation and there will be 4 great prizes (shown below) drawn at the September 19 annual chapter banquet. Sold ticket stubs must be turned in at the start of the September 19 chapter banquet to be eligible to win. Ticket holders need not be present to win. Tickets will also be available for pick-up at Jerry Green’s Suffolk Radio & TV Service, or by contacting Joyce Dugan, Scholarship Raffle Coordinator, at 757.635.1054 or by email at .
