The recently elected chapter President and two of the three newly elected Board Members were sworn in during the August member’s meeting. Jim Trommatter, our Virginia Division Representative, performed the swearing in. Chris Ferguson (pictured left) was sworn in as chapter President, Ken Dugan (below left) and Marshall Knox (below right) were sworn in as Board members. Richard Wentz was also elected as a new board member but was unable to attend the meeting and will be sworn in at a later date. In place of a guest speaker, Tim Doxey gave a briefing to inform members of the status of actions to obtain recertification of our park dam. The goal is to obtain recertification as a “low hazard” dam. Significant progress has been made by volunteers who have put in much hard work on the project. Their efforts are greatly appreciated. As a result, the the State Department of Conservation and Recreation has approved a two year conditional operating permit while we work on correcting the remaining deficiencies.
