Scholarship Historical Information
The Suffolk-Nansemond Chapter, Izaak Walton League of America, Inc. Scholarship and funding for same was initiated by William E. Ashley from a donation of Cornelia Spivey in loving memory of her husband Vernon Spivey, a long time supporter of IWLA ideals and its objectives.

Note, the scholarship committee, although mandated to award at minimum a single $500 scholarship as shown in the cover sheet document, routinely awards higher amounts and multiple awards each year, depending on additional monies raised through various fundraisers as coordinated by our chapter fundraiser chair.
