Fishing in Chapter Pond
Our pond is available for fishing by all chapter members and their guests. Be sure to fill out the sign-in log book in the mailbox by the front park gate.
Revised Creel Limits
As announced in our May, 2018 chapter newsletter, the board of directors has approved new creel limits for our chapter’s pond in accordance with the DWR (Department of Wildlife Resources) biologist’s recommendations. So, until further notice, in order to help restore a more healthy and balanced fish population in the pond, all chapter members and guests are requested to:
- release all bluegill and sunfish release large mouth bass (LMB) only if less than 8″ or greater than “14” in length otherwise keep (i.e. fish fry) all other sizes of LMB;
- keep (i.e. fish fry) all Crappie, White and Yellow Perch, Carp, Gizzard Shad and all catfish except channel cats;
- always record your fish catch/keep release stats in the fish log binder stored in the chapter park mailbox.
As evidenced by these two photos shown below, there are some nice-sized fish in our pond!
