On Saturday February 11th, several IWLA members were able to install and complete upgrades to the Archery Range! Ray Powell, Aaron Allen and his son Cameron, my son Nathaniel and Daniel Lovingood all came out to help accomplish this. We started at 7 in the morning and, with a short break at lunch for some pizza, finished around 2 in the afternoon.
We managed to dig 25 holes to place inserts in the ground for the removable wooden targets (5 at each 5yds, 10yds, 20yds, 30yds and 40yds), installed a shooting line flush to the ground with 5 lanes marked on the shooting line. There are still a few minor items that need to be installed, but the range is fully operational.
I want to personally thank all the individuals above for coming out and helping upgrade the Archery Range. I could not have done it by myself or that quick!
.
I would like to also remind everyone my son and I will be teaching a beginner archery class at 2PM on Saturday, March 18th. You do not need your own archery equipment to learn this great sport. The park has all of the equipment you will need during the class, just bring yourself! Of course, if you do have your own equipment please bring it. The first class will be the basics of archery and how to get started. We will be shooting some arrows on the new range during the class. I will be having a class each month and depending on the people who show up will depend on how more advanced we get. Hope to see many of you there!
