Prior to the August member’s meeting, volunteers picked up their trash grabbers, safety vests and trash bags for the second biannual road clean up of the year.
Gary Brown volunteered to coordinate the event. He and 23 other chapter members suffered the heat, humidity and scattered thunderstorms to collect 32 bags of trash from along Kings Fork Road.
While collecting trash, Gary came across the PTO shaft that Jimmy lost while driving his tractor home from the park. Jimmy had been pricing a replacement PTO for around $250.00 so he was glad to get it back. Gary said, ” volunteering really pays off.”
