May Members Picnic at Park

After the previous day’s torrential rains and winds with resulting fallen trees and power outages throughout the eastern seaboard, on the following Saturday morning, May 17th, the weather turned out to be just perfect for a chapter picnic at the park.  Cool breezes and sunny weather were enjoyed by about twenty-five chapter Ikes and their family members who gathered at the park gazebo for a hamburgers and hotdogs cookout.

At this picnic, a new member, Rob Lune, was sworn into the chapter by Vice President Darden Langston.  Welcome to the chapter Rob! {A photo of Rob being sworn in is pending and this article will be revised once received.}

Some played cornhole and threw horseshoes while others wet a line trying to catch fish at the pond’s edge.  Some commented on this being their first visit to the park, and how beautiful it was to just walk around and enjoy the scenery.  Water fowl frolicked on the pond, and turtles were seen at the shoreline.  Once member commented on sighting a snake up in a tree.   A good time was had by all!

Photos taken at the event are shown below.
