Park Maintenance Workday October 22nd, 2022

We had a good showing of chapter Ikes on the morning of October 22nd at the park gazebo, and the weather was perfect.  Everybody worked hard to accomplish the list of maintenance tasks previously identified by chapter Park Manager Jimmy Fanny.

Darden Langston reported that his work crew accomplished all of the tasks that needed to be done at the range.  While Mike Lane’s group concentrated on trimming in the dam’s overflow area, other Ikes used chain saws to take care of dead trees near the pond’s edge.  Said Jimmy, “It’s like a jungle in there” as he helped finish trimming the lower portion of the backside of the dam.  See below the photos taken of the dam after the trimming was completed, and also of a snake skin and a small animal skull found there.
