Despite questionable weather reports, Saturday March 19th turned out to be a perfect day for the 2022 rimfire competition. Members gathered at the range for an enjoyable morning of friendly competition. The event was coordinated by Chapter President and Chapter Shooting Coordinator Chris Ferguson. Assisting Chris officiate the event and act as Range Safety Officers were members David Perdue and Eric Fjell.
The event was divided into four categories, 25-yard open sight handgun, 50-yard scoped handgun, 50-yard open sight rifle and 100-yard scoped rifle. After tallying the targets, the results were:
25-yard open sight handgun: 1st place Darden Langston 2nd place Tim Doxey 3rd place HK Good
50-yard scoped handgun: 1st place HK Good 2nd place Darden Langston 3rd place Eric Fjell
50-yard open site rifle: 1st place Darden Langston 2nd place (Tie) Tim Doxey and Zach Ingold
100-yard scoped rifle: 1st place HK Good 2nd place Darden Langston 3rd place Chris Ferguson
This year’s competition was sponsored by Chuckatuck Trading Post. The sponsor supplied Habit brand fishing shirts for first place and 30oz. Yukon Outfitter insulated tumblers for second place winners. Participants, with prizes in hand, are pictured below. As an added note, Eric Fjell (fifth from the right) has taken over as the chapter’s shooting coordinator from Chris Ferguson. Eric acted as the range safety officer for the 100-yard rifle shoot and demonstrated that he was the right choice to be our new chapter Shooting Coordinator.
