Early on Saturday, April 24th sixteen Chapter volunteers met at the park for the spring cleanup and maintenance work day. The weather cooperated with overcast skies, cool temperatures and holding off the rain until later in the afternoon. Volunteers worked on placing telephone poles along the park entrance, grubbing out and back filling brush roots on the dam, clearing out ditches and mowing grass along pathways.
Two new members were sworn in and an orientation meeting, for two prospective memberships, was held while the cleanup work was in progress. Even though social distancing was exercised, volunteers enjoyed the comradery and the satisfaction of seeing improvements to the park being accomplished. There are still outstanding work items that need to be done. Members who still need credit for work hours can contact the Park Maintenance Chair for a list of outstanding items.
