Saturday morning, April 8th, 20 volunteers gathered at the chapter’s park for the spring clean up. Among the volunteers were members of local Boy Scout Troop #1. Even the weather helped out by being nice and cool in the morning and slowly warming up through out the day.
Volunteers removed leaves from the ditches along adjacent property boundaries, removed dead fall trees from the edge of the pond, cleared the remaining area of the dam, cut the grass along the edge of the pond and other areas in the park. The work was done to prepare the park for the upcoming Teddy Bear Hunt and to catch up on general maintenance.
After the work was done, volunteers enjoyed a lunch of sausages and hamburgers along with a pot of Bob Barnhill’s special chili.
