Sep 2016 Members Shooting Event

A Members-only shooting event was held September 10, 2016.  Chapter Ike David Perdue filled in to help out with Range Master duties on the day of the event on behalf of Chris Ferguson our Chapter Shooting Coordinator, who planned/formulated the rules for this event but unfortunately was not able to attend.

Event: S-N IWLA Chapter Members Only .22 Rimfire Competition
Location: Chapter Park Firing Range
Date: September 10th, 2016 Time: 10am
Who?:  Members of the Suffolk-Nansemond Chapter of the IWLA only
Range Master: Chris Ferguson (Chapter Shooting Coordinator)  

Rules (as formulated by Chris Ferguson)

1. Range Master or his assistant is in control of the range at all times.
2. All competitors must have completed a SN-IWLA range liability release form.
3. In accordance with the SN-IWLA range rules, only two shooters at a time.
4. All firearms will be unloaded and benched while people are downrange.
5. No firearms are to be loaded unless the range is hot and must be unloaded when the range is declared cold.
6. Competitors will be providing their own firearms and ammo. This competition is open to “.22” Rimfire ammunition only. No WMR or centerfire firearms. Any length (short, long, or long rifle) and velocity may be used.
7. Targets will be provided and are 100 yard precision rifle targets, regardless of distance.
8. The range will be closed and competition canceled in the case of inclement weather.
9. DECISION TO REVISE SCORING ALGORITHM on day of event: Scoring was based on closest to the bullseye (counting rings, multiplying by points, totalling score)  (a)Distance from the center of the group to the center of the target and b) In the event of a tie, the smallest group, as measured from center to center of the extreme spread of holes. 
10. Each person gets 10 shots per class/target.
11. No do-overs, jams and FTF may be cleared as long as no more than 10 aggregate shots are fired.
12. We will allow standing or sitting.
13. Any class with less than 3 competitors may be cancelled at the discretion of the Range Master and/or his assistant.
14. Don’t take it too seriously, this is for fun!

Classes:

1. Open sight handguns at 25 yards
2. Scoped handguns at 50 yards
3. Open sight rifles at 50 yards
4. Scoped rifles at 100 yards
