On Tuesday January 26th, N2 publishing sponsored a community event at the Planters Club in northern Suffolk. N2 publishing creates magazines focused on specific neighborhoods and associated businesses. The magazine includes personal articles about both residents and businesses in order to aid in their efforts to transform neighborhoods into communities.
The Planters Club event was held for residents of Bennett’s Creek Landing and The Riverfront at Harbor View neighborhoods. The purpose of the event was to facilitate the meeting and the exchange of ideas between the residents of those two neighborhoods as well as some local business partners.
Our chapter was invited to attend the event by Sarrah Isenhour of N2 publishing. Jim Tromatter, our chapter’s treasurer, pictured with N2 publishing area directors Sarrah Isenhour (front) and Tracy Zocher attended the event.
N2 publishing also coordinated a raffle of donated items at the event. All the proceeds from the raffle were donated to our IWLA Chapter. As a result, our chapter received $250.00. In further support of our chapter, Ms. Eisenhour offered us a free advertisement in an upcoming N2 community magazine publication scheduled for early November. This publication will be a great way to “advertise” our chapter’s annual “Pancake Supper” fundraiser.
Jim also set up the chapter’s IWLA information booth at the event. He made informational materials and other IWLA pamphlets available for attendees and answered questions regarding both IWLA National and our local chapter activities. During discussions with Jim, several attendees showed interest in IWLA and in particular our Chapter.
