The chapter’s 7th Teddy Bear Hunt took place Saturday Aprill 22nd. Forty children ages 3 to 10 years old participated in the event along with their parents or guardians. Over 100 people enjoyed a spring day at the park looking for Bears, enjoying lunch, trying their hand at fishing in the pond or just wandering around the park.
The park seemed to come alive with the sounds of children having a good time. The energy level was high, and giggles and laughter were heard as children found their bears and other forms of actual wildlife along the walking paths throughout the park.
This years event was supported by Tractor Supply in Suffolk and Franklin, Perry Minnow Farm in Windsor, DWR (Department of Wildlife Resources) in Chesapeake, Kings Fork Middle School and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Station #6. Ten unclaimed Teddy Bears were donated to the Suffolk Fire Department to ride along with children in their ambulances.
