At the recent Board of Director\u2019s Meeting the chapter donated some unclaimed Teddy Bears to the Suffolk Fire Department. The Teddy Bears were originally donated to the chapter by the Parson\u2019s Company in support of the chapter\u2019s recent Teddy Bear Hunt event. As a result of last minute cancellations by few event participants, the chapter had some unclaimed bears. The Board of Directors decided to play it forward and donate those bears to the fire department\u2019s \u201ccomfort bear\u201d program. The fire department carries\u00a0 bears with them on emergency calls. The bears are given to children involved with the emergencies to help decrease their stress and anxiety.<\/p>\n
The bears brought smiles to children\u2019s faces during the Teddy Bear Hunt event and now, in their new role as \u201ccomfort bears\u201d, will continue to bring smiles to those in need of one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
